What a spectacular way to spend a beautiful fall day on the Central Coast – a fun drive through wine country on River Road and then back to Carmel Valley via Arroyo Seco Rd and E Carmel Valley Rd. Twisty roads, not a lot of traffic. Some roads were nicely paved; others, not so much.
We were joined by our friends from the Loma Prieta region – our first joint event and a nice way to meet other Porsche enthusiasts. Dana Drysdale and Hugh Calvin helped organize their members.
We started at the Chili’s Grill & Bar in Seaside and drove in two groups headed by Michael and Mark. Unfortunately, our first planned pit stop at Mission Soledad was closed due to an unforeseen power outage. Instead, Mark’s group made a stop nearby at Wrath Wines; while, let’s just say, Michael’s group made do.
The final destination was the Carmel Valley Community Center where we held our Oktoberfest celebration including wurst (sausages), cabbage, salads, apple pie and drinks. The caterers did a wonderful job. Dave reviewed the answers to his challenging tech/trivia quiz.
A big thanks goes out to Mark and Libby as well as the other volunteers who made this event so successful.
