The meeting at Granite Rock on April 7th featured a presentation by vice-president Al Munoz-Flores on the 70th anniversary of PCA. Al showed slides from PCA showcasing their history and their areas of activity. He went through most of them rather quickly as there was more to come.

Past president Dave Terdy then took a turn and talked about the history of Monterey Bay Region, noting that when he moved here from Chicago, he didn’t know what to expect, but found a welcoming group of fellow Porsche lovers.
——
Dave was followed by past president Ted Voigt, who talked about the Porsche 50th anniversary celebration held by MBR in 1998, and showed photos of Wolfgang Porsche and Wendelin Weideking (CEO of Porsche) admiring the tiered cake with Porsche decorations that was prepared by Patisserie Bechler for the occasion, and noting that 1700 people came to the dinner held by MBR at the Carmel Mission. The rally on Thursday and dinner on Friday evening of the Historic Car Races were organized by a team of MBR members, including Bill Reichmuth (who obtained the use of the Mission courtyard), past president Dave Kuhlmann (who led the committee), Rob Ellis (who did the artwork for the poster and shirts) and Ginger Mutoza (who coordinated events at Laguna Seca along with Monica Nathan). Ted showed us the specially decorated wine bottle, the sweatshirt he was wearing and the umbrella given to committee members as thank you gifts.
Ted was followed by Ginger Mutoza, a past secretary, who showed us the shirt she was wearing and the poster for the event signed by all the race car drivers who were there, and filled in some of the details of the events.
The presentations were lively and generated conversations that lasted well past the usual meeting-ending time.
