Steve Fields thought it would be fun to have a drive in the middle of the week for those who didn’t have to work that day, so he set up a lunch run on Thursday, July 31st.
We met at the Crossroads Shopping Center near the Starbucks. A total of 17 cars ventured out on Carmel Valley Road to Laureles Grade, then over the Grade to Robley Road, taking that to Corral de Tierra, then taking that to San Benancio Road, all roads with many twists and turns. We took San Benancio Rd to Highway 68, then got off at Spreckels Blvd and headed for Harris Road, where we turned off at Tanimura & Antle for our lunch stop at the T&A Cafe. This place is justly known for its barbeque, and everyone was able to relax and enjoy their lunch while socializing.
The group included Ron Cline with the Shark Blue 2025 Cayman he won in the PCA Fall 2024 raffle, and Tim Clark, a past president of MBR in 1971. After lunch a half dozen cars went back to Monterey and turned onto Olmsted Rd to get to Aguajito Rd, another road with twists and turns that ended up at Highway 1.
Another great MBR tour thanks to Steve Fields and to Mark McMahon, who led the second tour group.
