Due to less than expected registrations, we have decided to move our annual Oktoberfest event on October 18th from Carmel Valley to Lugano Swiss Bistro in the Barnyard Shopping Center in Carmel. Lunch will be served at 1pm and we will have a private room for our group. As in past years, we have invited our neighbors to the north – the Loma Prieta Region along with something new—the local chapter of the Ferrari Owners Club, to join our celebration.
The bistro has arranged for us to enjoy a special German menu with Fondue Appetizer, choice of schnitzel, bratwurst, pizokel casserole or salmon, iced tea/water and apple strudel for dessert. A nice selection of German beers or wines are available for purchase separately. The restaurant has asked us to choose one of the 4 entrees as you register so they know what food to purchase for our group. Those who have already registered will be contacted separately to make sure they understand the changes and we know what they would like to eat. Best of all, the price has not changed—$40 per person for this nice meal. Those who purchased wine or beer will receive a refund of that portion so they may purchase drinks of their choice at the restaurant.
As in years past, the celebration will be preceded by an optional driving tour.
IMPORTANT UPDATE – CHANGE OF MEETING PLACE and TIME
Because the tour will only take 1 hour, we will meet behind the Starbucks at the Crossroads Center in Carmel (Hwy 1 and Rio Road) at 11:00. The drivers meeting will be at 11:30 and we will depart at 11:45. Because we will be driving through downtown Monterey with its multiple stop lights, I would like to divide the us into 3 groups. I will lead one group and Michael Hesse has agreed to help me lead one of the groups, but I will need one additional leader and 3 sweeps. We will also benefit from additional walkie talkies, so please bring yours if you have one. Leading a tour can be a lot of fun as can being the sweep car at the end, reporting to the lead how the tour is progressing. Consider if you might be able to help. Those who wish to lead or sweep are invited to join Michael and me for a pre-Tour run this coming Friday morning.
Note that you don’t have to make the Tour to attend the event. If you prefer, simply drive to the Barnyard Shopping Center and park near the windmill for the 1pm lunch. Thanks for understanding this last-minute change to enable us to celebrate Oktoberfest with our club members and friends!

To register for the event, use the booking form below. We can accommodate up to 40 attendees.
