SUMMARY:2026 Night at the Races
DESCRIPTION:I am happy to report that we are going to Watsonville Speedway 
 for a Night at the Races. After some discussions with the new track manage
 r and the fairgrounds team\, we have agreed on a new date—August 28th\, 
 a Friday.\n\nWe will meet at 2:00 Friday afternoon at Chili’s in Seaside
 . There will be some folks visiting the restaurant for lunch\, so please p
 ark away from the front entrance. After a quick drivers’ meeting\, we wi
 ll depart at 2:30 and drive together to Watsonville Speedway\, where we wi
 ll be directed to a special entrance. Our group will be placed on the lawn
  right across from the main gate to the track so all incoming visitors wil
 l be able to see our cars. Ted and I will be arranging the cars in a nice 
 pattern so there is room between them for visitors to walk.\n\nNote - this
  is a very family-oriented event and kids are welcome. Because of this\, w
 e understand if you want to drive your Porsche SUV or other SUV or van. Th
 at is not a problem\, but understand that we will only be parking Porsche 
 sports cars on the lawn. Members with alternate vehicles will park in the 
 main parking lot (since we are arriving early\, you will still be close to
  the entrance).\n\nAll the cars parked on the lawn should be in place by 4
 pm when the visitors arrive . If you want\, bring a folding chair or two t
 o enjoy the afternoon at our “private car show.” Make sure your sports
  car looks good as I anticipate many questions from other track guests inc
 luding children about our cars\, which should be a lot of fun! Note there 
 will be qualifying and practice sessions on the dirt track beginning about
  4:30. The main events will begin at 6pm so we should be seated about that
  time in our reserved location in the grandstands. Racing ends at 9:30 so 
 we can get home before it is too late.\n\nThe track serves food and drinks
  for all to enjoy. They accept credit cards at the bar\, but only cash at 
 the snack bar. So\, please bring cash if you choose to purchase food. Of c
 ourse\, this is track food prepared in a snack bar\, so if you are on a re
 stricted diet\, please bring something with you.\n\nEach Porsche sports ca
 r attending will receive one free ticket to the races. Other members in th
 ese cars and those parking outside will purchase tickets at the box office
  as needed. I believe admission is $20 per person\, possibly less for chil

 nThere is no limit to the number of our members who can attend but we need
  you to register so we can tell the track manager how many of us will atte
