Mike Rogers

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to report a long-time member of our PCA-Monterey Bay family passed away this past weekend. Mike Rogers, former club officer, newsletter editor and wonderful guy fell asleep and did not wake up.

I cannot say anything adequate to explain how Mike impacted me and my family as he was a friend long before we owned a Porsche, before his family or ours had children.

Those of you who attended any of our recent tours will remember that Mike, despite some physical limitations, never missed one!  He was always there with a smile, supporting his wife, our Vice President, Vega.  Mike was a PCA member for probably the last 40 years.  He attended the first Big Sur Tour when six of us went to Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn in the late 1980’s.  In the days before the internet, he kept the club close and informed with his dedicated publication of the Montereyan Newsletter.  He loved Porsches, British Sports Cars and motorcycles.  And so much more…

I want to take this moment to ask all of you who knew Mike to join me and post or view photos and memories of him on a special photo gallery we created on Google Photos (or click on photo above).

Our club will continue, which is what he would want, but we won’t be the same without Mike Rogers.

Thank You and Take Care,
