Our Coastal Escape will be a 3-day overnight trip, Friday, June 5th to Sunday, June 7th. This year, our tour will take us down Highway 1 to the Cambria and Paso Robles and then to San Luis Obispo before heading back north to San Simeon and finally King City.

Friday

We will meet in Carmel at the Crossroads Center behind Starbucks at 8:30am and leave at 9am to arrive in Cambria for lunch at Linn’s Restaurant about 12:00. There will be some stops along the way. After lunch, members can choose a short hike at Fiscalini Ranch Preserve or to simply walk around Cambria.

At 2:30pm, we will drive to Paso Robles for wine tasting at Castoro Cellars. Enjoy a selec­tion of five tastes for $25 (includes tax and tip). Please select below if you are wine tasting. A deposit is required for the group.

We will get to the Hotel Siri in Paso Robles about 5:00pm. Dinner will be at 6pm at Basil Thai Restaurant in downtown Paso Robles.

After dinner, those who are interested will visit Sensorio to see the amazing light shows at this popular attraction. Payment to the club in advance will be required for this show so please indicate below if you wish to attend.

Saturday

Thinking about Saturday, I feel a slow morning will be welcomed after a very busy Friday. So, we will have breakfast at 9:00am at Touch of Paso restaurant. Then we will take a fun drive through the country to San Luis Obispo where we will visit Mission San Luis Obispo and have lunch at Beda’s Biergarten. The owner is a Porsche fan and he welcomed us in 2023.

Afterwards, we will enjoy more winding roads north to end in San Simeon at the Coast Riders Inn which is owned by our club member Buddy. Dinner will be 7pm at Robin’s Restaurant in Cambria. Please bring cash or a check for this dinner.

Sunday

On Sunday, we will drive North on Highway 1 to Sand Dollar Beach for a rest stop, then east on the amazing Nacimiento-Fergusson Road. After a stop at Mission San Antonio de Padua, we will drive to the King City Grill for lunch. This will be the conclusion of the Tour. Members can choose to drive home via Highway 101, River Road or Carmel Valley Road.

Both hotels will need to be booked by attendees directly. Please do this ASAP after registering for the tour as space is limited at the hotels.

Upon receiving your Hotel Siri’s reservation, PLEASE forward the confirmation to Connie Hong-Smith, hongsmi@comcast.net. Upon receiving all hotel confirmations, Connie will negotiate a discount on our group reservation, if available. If any questions, Connie can be reached at 925-989-4286 cell/text.

All meals will be paid by individuals at the restaurant (we are not collecting money for any of the meals). For dinner at Robin’s on Saturday night, please bring cash or a check.

To register for the event, use the booking form below.  First, sign up for the tour itself (no cost) by specifying the number of attendees and their names. Optionally, select the wine tasting tour at Castoro Cellars ($25) and/or the Sensorio experience ($65).

The maximum number of attendees is 30. Online registration closes on Monday, June 1st at 9PM.

Stripe (for debit/credit cards) and PayPal are used by the Club for its payment gateways. In both cases, you will be transferred from our site to their secured payment site. No credit card or PayPal account data is stored on our site. Upon completion of your payment, you will be returned to our site. An email booking confirmation will be sent to you.

If you have a problem or prefer to pay by check, select “Pay with Offline Payment” (select in drop-down menu). Make your check payable to “PCA-Monterey Bay Region” and mail to: Paul Sedillos, MBY Treasurer, PO Box 524, Monterey, CA 93942. Please allow enough time so that your check is received before the event.
