SPRINGTIME SOJOURN — ‘CAPTURING THE ESSENCE……’
With birds singing, and flowers blooming, we could not be experiencing a more beautiful springtime. Once again, our very popular drive through the verdant green valleys and back roads of San Benito and Monterey Counties is upon us.
The start point will be at the Windmill Market, corner of Highway 156 & The Alameda, in San Juan Bautista.
Meet at 8:50am – driver’s meeting at 9:20am – depart at 9:40am.
As always, this outing includes a tasty lunch at The Cork & Plough in King City and visit to the Soledad Mission, coupled with approximately 90 miles of spirited and scenic driving.
This year (for those wishing to participate) will include a photo contest involving the character and spirit of our tour. Various categories will be announced in the coming weeks – so get ready to ‘Capture the Essence’ of this fun filled experience.

As our Springtime Sojourn approaches, we invite everyone to take part in a fun but voluntary photo contest: “Capture the Essence…”.
This challenge is about enjoying the journey and highlighting the unique moments, scenes and impressions we experience along the way- whether it’s the people, the cars or the landscapes. Your photos will help tell the story of our adventure and make the event even more memorable.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
- Best People Shot — Capture the camaraderie, laughter, and shared spirit of the group.
- Best Candid Moment — Unscripted, authentic reactions – those blink-and-you-miss-it moments.
- Best Car Shot – Think beyond just the cars themselves and include landscapes, scenery, destinations, group, on the road or action shots.
- Best Creative Shot — Think artistic – unique angles, abstract compositions, colors, light and shadows. Take inspiration from the distinctive style seen in Jeff Zwart’s Art featured on the last page of Panorama magazine.
Photos must be taken on the day of the event and be submitted by Friday, April24th.
To submit your photos, upload them to the shared Google Photos album at photos.app.goo.gl/gSWbPQgcMEA58ERe7 – click on the link and follow the instructions to add photos (look for either the text “+ Select photos” or the icon of a photo with a “+” sign”.)
Winners will be announced at the next general membership meeting.
To register for the event, use the booking form below. The cost is $35 per member including gratuity and tax. The maximum number of attendees is 35. Online registration closes on Wednesday, April 8th at 9PM.
Stripe (for debit/credit cards) and PayPal are used by the Club for its payment gateways. In both cases, you will be transferred from our site to their secured payment site. No credit card or PayPal account data is stored on our site. Upon completion of your payment, you will be returned to our site. An email booking confirmation will be sent to you.
If you have a problem or prefer to pay by check, select “Pay with Offline Payment” (select in drop-down menu). Make your check payable to “PCA-Monterey Bay Region” and mail to: Paul Sedillos, MBY Treasurer, PO Box 524, Monterey, CA 93942. Please allow enough time so that your check is received before the event.
