For the Tour to Gilroy via Hecker Pass, we are heading to Gilroy in early June to enjoy sunshine, winding roads, good food and wine.
We will meet at Chili’s Restaurant at 9:00. Driver’s meeting will be at 9:30 with departure at 9:45 .
We will drive to our first stop at the Windmill Market in San Juan Bautista at 10:15. Members from Salinas or Hollister can join us at the Windmill Market if they prefer.
We will depart the Windmill Market at 10:30.
We will take back roads through Aromas and Watsonville to Hecker Pass Road where we will turn right and head up the pass after a short stop on the side of the road to regroup.
Once over the pass, we will turn left onto Watsonville Road. After a few miles, we will pull into the Chitactac-Adams Park on the left side of the road for a bathroom break. Then we will continue on the Watsonville Road until we reach the Uvas Road fork on the left. After many wonderful winding miles, we will turn right onto Oak Glen Ave and pass beautiful Chesbro Reservoir on our way to MoHi Farms Restaurant in Downtown Morgan HIll for lunch at noon.
After a fine lunch, we will drive back along Chesbro Reservoir to Uvas Road and turn left (the way we came before). We will drive to the Uvas Reservoir Lookout and stop to stretch our legs. After a break, we will continue to Day Road and from there to Santa Theresa. We will make our last turn onto Fitzgerald Road which will lead us to Little Uvas Vinyards and their Tasting Room they call the “Garage.” Members will be free to enjoy their wine, view their car collection (including many Porsches!) and leave when they are ready. The drive back to Monterey will take about one hour.
Cost for brunch is $40. It will include choice of eggs benedict, breakfast sandwich or smoked salmon with cream cheese on toast. Beverages will be purchased separately.
The maximum the restaurant can accommodate is 40, so the event is limited it to 40 members.
To register for the event, use the booking form below. We have added a new payment option to make it easier to pay with a debit or credit card through Stripe (select in drop-down menu). Registration closes Thursday, June 5th at 9PM.
Stripe (for debit/credit cards) and PayPal are used by the Club for its payment gateways. In both cases, you will be transferred from our site to their secured payment site. No credit card or PayPal account data is stored on our site. Upon completion of your payment, you will be returned to our site. An email booking confirmation will be sent to you.
If you have a problem or prefer to pay by check, select “Pay with Offline Payment” (select in drop-down menu). Make your check payable to “PCA-Monterey Bay Region” and mail to: Paul Sedillos, MBY Treasurer, PO Box 524, Monterey, CA 93942. Please allow enough time so that your check is received before the event.
